Uncorked Expectations is a NA wine tasting designed to explore what NA wine actually is, how it’s made, and sample to find your favourite!
Non-alcoholic wine is having a moment — but most people are still confused by it.
Some bottles feel surprisingly convincing. Others feel sweet, sharp, or flat.
And many people walk away thinking, “I wanted to like this… but I don’t.”
Uncorked Expectations exists to change that.
This is a relaxed, conversational tasting hosted by Amol at The Sobr Market in Burlington, designed to help you understand:
How non-alcoholic wine is actually made
Why removing alcohol changes structure, body, and balance
Why some grapes and styles work better without alcohol
How to enjoy NA wine on its own terms (instead of comparing it endlessly to traditional wine)
As we taste, we’ll also explore questions like:
Why does NA wine sometimes taste sweeter, even when sugar wasn’t added?
Why do white wines often perform better than reds?
What’s missing when alcohol is gone — and can anything replace it?
This is not a lecture. It’s not a sales pitch.
And it’s definitely not about pretending non-alcoholic wine is “the same.”
It’s about understanding what changed — and learning how to enjoy what remains.
Whether you’re sober, sober-curious, taking a break, or just genuinely curious, you’ll leave with:
Clearer expectations
A sharper palate
Much better sense of which NA wines are actually worth your time
Who This Event is For
Curious wine drinkers exploring non-alcoholic options
People who’ve tried NA wine and felt underwhelmed
Sober or sober-curious guests who still love wine culture
