Gould won re-election by 11,069 votes in 2019 and by 5,860 votes in 2021.
Burlington riding federal Liberal candidate Karina Gould was first elected in 2015.
Gould won re-election by 11,069 votes in 2019 and by 5,860 votes in 2021.
Gould’s campaign web page states she is a lifelong resident of Burlington.
“Growing up as the daughter of a small business owner, she learned early on the value of hard work and the importance of community,” Gould’s party biography states.
Before entering politics, she worked in international trade and holds degrees from McGill University and the University of Oxford.
Gould ran for the Liberal party of Canada leadership earlier this year, finishing third with 3.2 per cent of the vote, behind winner Mark Carney (85.9 per cent) and Chrystia Freeland (eight per cent).
